I started alone, amidst hollow agony,
A face met my path, and he comforted me. The face, it was yours, and you held me so close, But your comfort did not satisfy my soul… In complacency I agreed, your support all I’d known, My guilt kept our bond, your love was alone. Forever I decided, I would stand by your side, But truth betrayed me, and left me to hide. Like the roar of a lion, your heart then cried out, The love in your face was replaced with a doubt. You saw blame on your hands, and shame in your eyes, Without my support, you wrote your goodbye… 10 years passed over my wandering heart, The edge of my cliff, I perched to depart, But a new voice of reason found me in the dark, His voice carried light, hope for a new start… I tried to love; I tried to move on, So strong were the chains that held onto our bond. The pain of the past, the burn of the blame, I made the decision you already made…
