Amidst The Cliffs
The moonlight calls as the wind brushes my skin
Majestic mountains soar, another night begins.
Trees sway with ambition, free to touch the sky,
No cloud can stop the stars; my cloud can't stop the stars.
A haze of inspiration, a veil of introspection,
I search the life I live, for meaning and dictation.
When yonder comes a flash, an unexpected sight,
The thunder wakes my senses, I’m afraid, I am afraid.
For all of this beauty, all of this creation,
Swallowed by a storm, of terror and confusion.
The clouds cry out. The rocks are quenched.
But I stand still, determined not to waver.
Like a concert from heaven, light and sound consume.
The bright stripe across the sky, the reverberating Boom.
But this storm will pass; the peace will moon light,
And shine past the clouds, welcomed is the night
I enjoy creative writing as well as dabbling in poetry.
