Emotional Abuse is a persuasive problem that affects all areas of our society. But what can we do to help prevent and solve it? The first step is being aware. If we continue to overlook emotional abuse as something between two people or "not that serious", then we become as guilty as those perpetrating it. Look for the signs (withdrawal, controlled, low self esteem), ask questions (does this happen often? What is being said/done to you?), and listen. Many people reach out but are told it is something they should deal with, we can only prevent emotional abuse if we support the avenues of stopping it.
